Hello,
Maybe this French topicality will interest you. It is about the new version of OdtPHP, a PHP API for Open Office.
Best,
Emilie

Alter Way, French Open Source integrator, is announcing the release of version OdtPHP 1.0, PHP API for OpenOffice, which enables files to be created in OpenDocument format.

Distributed under a GPL licence, OdtPHP enables the automatic generation of OpenOffice documents based on models. Thus, users are able to employ them directly within their PHP applications. No need of OpenOffice on the server, only PHP.

OdtPHP has a multitude of functions:
- Replacement of OpenOffice model tags with text or image content
- Multiplication of OpenOffice table lines
- Export of the final result to a file on the server or directly to the customer’s browser
- Nesting and repetition of loops
- .../...

“OdtPHP is a PHP API for OpenOffice which enables optimal use of the XML format of OpenDocument format files. With OdtPHP, the open source community is organising itself better in order to offer a global response to the needs of users and industry” explains Cyril PIERRE de GEYER, co-author of the book “PHP 5 avancĂ©” and General Manager of Alter Way’s training division: Anaska.

OdtPHP users now benefit from extremely fast access. With a minimum of code, users are able to generate documents by replacing the model’s tags and inserting images. They are also able to take advantage of advanced functions to create complex OpenOffice files by repeating segments in the document or the table’s lines.

OdtPHP has been developed by a team of PHP experts: Cyril PIERRE DE GEYER, joint founder of AFUP and general manager of Anaska Alter Way Formation, Julien PAULI, PHP, ZendFramework certified expert software architect and trainer at Anaska Alter Way Formation, Olivier BOOKLAGE, business manager at MVF and Vincent BROUTÉ, manager of the DepanneTonPC site, Zend PHP 5 certified.
